Synopsis

(Alchemical Dark Academia, Found Family, Slow-Burn)

The only things that ever interested the hopelessly pedantic Gysel Neekhilst were birds, Operative Alchemy, and being left alone.

But in 1008, Era of the Two Scholars, when an experiment goes wrong, and she winds up on the front page of every newspaper in Empire, she catches the attention of the Thoranyn Academy of Magick and Alchemy.

Three years later, a letter from the Academy arrives at her door, offering her a full-ride scholarship. Little does she know, she has barely scratched the surface of the world, the field she thought she knew, and her own mind and being.

200k-word backlog, and all three volumes fully planned.

What to Expect:

- A slow-burn, character-driven found family story, with an equally slow-burn romance sub-plot

- A focus on the psychological state of Gysel which will bleed into the narration

- Slice of life elements revolving around school projects and the academic life

- A cozy (mostly), yet atmospheric, dark academic setting reminiscent of the Pacific Northwest, with slowly unfolding mysteries

- A hard magic system rooted in real-world occultism and alchemy

What Not to Expect:

- Fast paced action

- Quick answers

- Unkept promises
