The One-Kilo Inventory
Synopsis
Evan Lin is broke, underpaid, and one missed paycheck away from becoming a cautionary tale.
Then he discovers the Kilogram Exchange.
Once per day, he can exchange up to one kilogram of matter into any material profile he has personally owned before. Gold. Silver. Copper. Industrial resin. Scrap steel. Anything — as long as he has touched the right version of it, and as long as he can survive the paperwork that comes after.
At first, one kilogram sounds like a miracle.
Then Evan learns the real problem.
Gold needs buyers. Cash needs a story. Storage creates records. Materials have permits, grades, supplier codes, invoices, and people who notice when impossible supply appears in the wrong hands.
With the help of Brian Woon, a street-smart friend with buyer access, and Rachel Wong, a sharp operator who understands records better than luck, Evan begins turning a strange loophole into a business.
But in Meridian City, money is never just money.
And one kilogram a day is not a fortune.
It is a trail.
A resource-progression urban fantasy about materials, money, logistics, hidden markets, and the systems that notice too late.
