Synopsis

After the fall of the Machine Overmind on Planet Alista, a half command AI and half of a soul of a human named Polaris reactivates thousands of years later on a drifting asteroid in an unknown star system.

With fragmented memories, Polaris pieces together the truth: the machine empire originally created by the long-vanished Terra Empire was attacked by an unknown force, and select units were sent across space to ensure survival.

Polaris discovers five dormant subordinate machines and reactivates them, establishing itself as the new command authority in the absence of the Overmind. Realizing it is far beyond known space with no contact or support, Polaris makes a logical decision—begin again.
