I have no family, no friends, and just two months left on before my time is up. All I have left is my ship and my job as a Mechatronic Archaeologist.

My employer is sending me to the fringes of our vast solar system-wide civilisation. The destination is a border system before no-man's land, where I'm tasked with uncovering the archaeological discovery of the century. It will be my last mission, and with nothing left to lose, I'd almost welcome a spectacular end.

The only complication is the forced company of a mandated security robot, whose primary function is to ensure my protection.

I feel sorry for it already.
