Synopsis

Magic, once thought to be myth and mere illusion, magic has only been hiding itself for thousands of years.

When Vi was drawn back to Japan, he assumed it was just a misunderstanding. He was wrong. Forces long at work had already set their plans in motion.

Alongside his family and friends, they are unexpectedly isekai’d into another world—one where magic is real, nations are at war, and enemies lurk both outside and within. His friends are the “Heroes,” summoned to save this world. Vi… was not.

Accidental summon or not, Vi is far from powerless. Now he must protect his family, unravel the mystery behind the sentient AI assigned to him, follow ghostly voices only he can hear, and eventually find a way back home—to confront those responsible for dragging them into this chaos.

Blending cultivation-inspired systems, lit-RPG mechanics, layered mysteries, and plenty of misadventures, Isekai Mendokusai is a slow-burn, slice-of-life isekai. It takes its time letting the world and characters grow naturally, with harem developments unfolding much later, deep into the story.

Note 1: The prologue can be skipped as it only sets up earth for the future volumes, and it was I had at the time of the Writathon, that one's on me

Note 2: I'll try to participate at every Writathon ever
