Great Demon Lord (GDL)

The story initially follows Ko a young boy supporting a person he calls his best friend (Koshi) in her ambitions, that would set them apart. 

Through trials of quiet endurance and unexpected burdens, Imuru once simply Ko finds himself pulled from a life of small comforts into the reluctant mantle of Great Demon Lord. What begins as loyalty to his fierce, red-haired companion Koshi spirals into guardianship of a fractured world: a dying Celestial Lake entrusted to his uncertain hands, a forest scarred by old wars, and a growing circle of followers who see in him something he cannot yet see in himself.

He never sought divinity, nor power, nor even leadership. He wanted tea on the porch, Forcent’s warm fur against his side, lazy afternoons watching the village tavern come alive with laughter and stories.

But the world refuses to let him remain small. Ancient guardians pass on their final duties. Dark Deviders kneel in fierce, chaotic devotion. Orcs arrive with invitations laced with ambition. Mutated horrors rise from crystal depths below. And every reluctant “yes” he gives to protect a promise, to shield a friend, to keep one more person from breaking, draws more eyes, more expectations, more danger.

What to expect: Great Demon Lord is a mature, slow-burn progression fantasy that explores themes of unwanted responsibility, the cost of loyalty, healing through found family, quiet strength in a loud world, and the struggle to remain human (or humane) when everyone insists you become a legend.
