Our Journey's End [LitRPG] [Isekai] [Progression] [Fantasy]
Synopsis
“I want to live too...”
Those were the last words he uttered before being left behind, torn apart by the fallen. Yet betrayal, anger, and frustration were not the deepest emotions he felt. Not even the pain of being ripped apart, flesh by flesh.
It was clarity, much like his name. Lucid understood then that maybe, just maybe, he had spent his life the wrong way.
Perhaps, in his next life, he would have better luck.
However, Lucid awakens in a strange purple forest that feels both foreign and strangely familiar.
Against all odds he had survived; he had not been reincarnated. Nor transmigrated into another body. He remembers everything; that much remains clear. He is still himself. Yet his face is hidden behind a peculiar haze of mist-like substance, and his body is covered in torn rags.
Suddenly a voice chimes inside his head—a beautiful, elegant voice. A voice that seems to belong to a long-fallen deity named Alice. But upon realization, she is just as lost as he is. She cannot remember her own past, and yet, she carries a hope he himself lacks.
Alice guides him forward through the scattered realms, and as they journey together, Lucid may be the only thing capable of restoring this fallen deity to her former divinity. And in return, she may be the only one capable of leading him home.
Or perhaps fueling the twisted desire buried deep within him.
Revenge.
After all, he has not forgotten.
