The Island
Synopsis
So I woke up hungover in paradise, but there's people, monsters, and magic. Some of those aren’t nice.
A story of survival and progression. Tumai against the world.
What to expect:
-A protagonist who is skittish, but who fights very hard when his back is against the wall.
-A protagonist who swears a lot when he gets stressed.
-A protagonist who likes the world he finds himself in, just not what some people have done with it.
-Magic! Titans! The souls of monsters! Spells that require a little bit of strategy to use.
-Exotic landscapes of the Island's interior and coasts, full of mythic beasts and dinosaurs.
-A rough, frontier society of hunters, runaways, and tribal lords.
-Realistic relationships with friends, enemies, mentors, and lovers. This is a bildungsroman, not a harem story.
-Growth from weak to incredibly strong as a result of sustained effort and risk.
-Some attempts, perhaps, to change the world itself, and its relationship to Earth. He's got a long way to go for that to happen however, and not everything works first try.
I'm aiming to release two chapters a week from here to the finish. I have all major arcs roughly planned and a (smallish) stockpile of completed chapters with which to ensure supply.
