This Young Master Just Wants To Go Home
Synopsis
Ethan was never aiming to be a hero. After his awakening he had come to terms with just being a D-rank hunter scraping by in a world where rifts spit out monsters and riches in equal measure. But when a raid goes sideways, he finds himself trapped on a cultivation planet, surrounded by arrogant young masters, ancient sects, and people who think duels to the death are a perfectly reasonable way to settle disputes.
To make matters worse, a mysterious system starts handing out quests with one promise: complete them, or never return home. Now, Ethan is stuck playing along, dodging power-hungry cultivators, and somehow gaining a reputation he never wanted. Everyone thinks he’s some hidden genius, but he knows the truth—it’s all the stupid systems fault!
He didn’t sign up for this. He doesn’t care about immortality, grand daos, or face-slapping arrogant nobles. He just wants to go home. But with each quest dragging him deeper into this world’s power struggles, escape might not be as simple as he hoped.
I would describe this story as a grimdark slowburn, the system is there and helps him gain power but it’s not something that is going to make him overpowered in 20 chapters. Ethan is going to struggle and claw his way through this new world until he reaches the pinnacle.
