The Hollows
Synopsis
Six years ago, Emma Mercer’s son vanished inside Bellwether School.
There was no broken window. No open door. No security footage. Just a hallway that should not have been there, and a six-year-old boy who never came home.
When the school’s longtime custodian disappears while investigating the same impossible architecture, his daughter Tess refuses to accept another official explanation. Emma refuses to let the past stay buried. Together, they hire Noa Vale, a private investigator who expects locked doors, hidden passages, and human lies.
Instead, the three women find the Hollows.
Behind Bellwether’s familiar walls is a world of copied places and broken rules: classrooms without students, cafeterias that feed no one, courtyards with no sky, and corridors that remember people differently than they remember themselves.
At first, survival means finding food, marking routes, and refusing to follow the voices calling from around corners. Then they meet June, a strange girl who has survived too long in the Hollows and knows more than she will say.
The deeper they go, the harder it becomes to tell the difference between rescue and bait, memory and proof, stranger and survivor. Every place offers a way forward. Every answer costs them certainty.
Somewhere in the Hollows, lost things are still being kept.
The Hollows is a liminal psychological horror novel about missing children, impossible spaces, and the terrible hope of finding what was taken.
