Synopsis

Fate is a fickle thing.

Mir is a seventeen-year-old demon boy living at the edge of a human village in Za'lim. He has no family and no future. He is unwanted and worth precisely as much as the scraps left at his door.
Then his village burns, and the man responsible is not some wandering bandit. He is a servant of something older and far more deliberate.
Mir walks out of the ashes with nothing but a direction. What he doesn't know is that he was marked before he was born. That a high priest once read an oracle and a demon emperor decided, quietly, that Mir should never exist long enough to fulfill it.
He doesn't know any of this yet. He will... eventually.
Born as the abandoned son of the Demon King of Gluttony, Mir is about to stumble into a world which he wished he never knew.
